After early success in a BBC Radio 4 competition, he developed a strong interest in the sonnet form, with subsequent work appearing in such places as 14 by 14, Lucid Rhythms, The Chimaera, Blood Lines (anthology) and Measure. 'Check Up' was shortlisted for the Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award 2009. He has a particular interest in the sonnet as dramatic monologue, written primarily to be performed - see link below. His first collection In Small Measure was published in 2011.
