Julius Long

(1907 - 1955)

Julius W. Long was a lesser-known American author best remembered for his contributions to the genre of weird fiction and horror in the early 20th century. While the details of his life, including his birth and death dates, remain obscure, Long's work was contemporaneous with that of more prominent authors like H.P. Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith. His literary output was relatively small, but Long left a mark within the literary circles of his time through his short stories.

Long's work was primarily published in pulp magazines such as "Weird Tales," a publication that specialized in supernatural and horror fiction and served as a platform for many writers in the field. His stories often featured elements of the macabre, the strange, and the psychological, drawing readers into tales that explored human fears and cosmic horrors. However, Long did not gain the same level of fame or lasting recognition as some of his peers, and as a result, his stories have largely fallen into obscurity.

Despite this, Julius W. Long remains an intriguing figure for aficionados of vintage horror and weird tales, with his works sometimes being unearthed and appreciated by new generations of readers searching for hidden gems within the genre.
